The New Jersey Coalition to End Domestic Violence Announces

New Executive Director

The New Jersey Coalition to End Domestic Violence (NJCEDV) has selected Pamela Jacobs, J.D., as the organization’s new Executive Director. Ms. Jacobs brings over 17 years experience in the domestic violence and sexual assault field as an attorney, advocate, speaker and author, and has dedicated her career to empowering survivors, holding perpetrators accountable and working to end domestic violence and sexual assault.

Prior to joining NJCEDV, Ms. Jacobs served as the Executive Director of the South Carolina Coalition Against Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault, and as the Immigration and Outreach Attorney for the Kansas Coalition Against Sexual and Domestic Violence.  Ms. Jacobs has provided domestic violence and sexual assault training to professionals nationwide, and serves as a consultant for the Department of Justice Office for Victims of Crime and Cornerstone Military Services, a national non-profit serving military families.

With a membership that includes 30 domestic violence organizations across the state, NJCEDV has provided advocacy, training and technical assistance to improve community responses to domestic violence in NJ for nearly forty years.  “Ms. Jacobs’ impressive resume and strong personal qualities gave the board and staff of the coalition confidence that she will be able to lead NJCEDV into a new era of advocacy and victim services,” said Esther East, President to NJCEDV’s Board of Directors.

Ms. Jacobs received her Juris Doctorate from Washburn University School of Law, and her Bachelor of Business Administration from Lincoln University.  Ms. Jacobs has an adult daughter who grew up in the movement, and is currently attending college in North Carolina.
